About the Painting: 

Laimoon (Lemon) is inspired by my grandfather’s citrus garden in Jericho, in the West Bank near the Dead Sea.

As a child, some of my most cherished memories were formed in Jeddo’s garden. His home in Jericho was our winter sanctuary — a place we traveled to every year from Ramallah and Al-Bireh when the cold months arrived. Down in the valley, the air was warmer, the sunlight softer and more golden, and the land felt alive with fragrance and color. It felt like going on a sacred vacation — a return to warmth, family, and earth.

This painting holds the essence of those days: sun-ripened lemons glowing with life, rooted in ancestral soil, carrying stories of care, patience, and abundance. Laimoon is a tribute to inherited love, to Palestinian land, and to the simple magic of childhood moments spent among citrus trees and open skies.

A piece for those who long for a taste of Palestine, it’s warmth, memory, and the sweetness of home.
