NEW COLLECTION - Watermelon Poppy Design

ABOUT THE DESIGN:

This is design created by Dena; owner of Levantinian.

The design carries popular symbols from Palestine.

The Watermelon 🍉: represents the Palestinian flag and was used during intifadas to replace the flag when it was banned.

The Poppy Flower: is a famous Palestinian flower. Featuring all four colors that make up the Palestinian flag, the poppy has come to symbolize resistance and indigenous Palestinian heritage; the rich red also represents the blood shed by those who have fought for the Palestinian nation.

The Olive Branches: symbolize the importance of olive trees for the Palestinians as a source of income and generational wealth. It’s a connection to the ancestors of the land who planted the seeds many years ago. The olive tree symbolizes permanence and resistance.

The Map: This is the full map of Palestine since pre 1948. Palestinians care to wear art that includes the map and decorate their homes with this symbol as it represents liberation from the river to the sea, with full access to their whole land, their ancestors land, with all of its resources.

we love seeing everyone celebrate the Palestinian culture and heritage, including non-Palestinians.
